Shipping Methods

Sportsman’s Guide offers a range of domestic and international shipping options through various carriers. We will select the method and carrier appropriate for your order based on weight, dimensions, delivery time, and cost.

Domestic Shipping

Ground Shipping is our standard shipping method for most orders within the contiguous U.S. Delivery time is normally 5-7 business days from the shipment date. Expedited options are available at checkout for an additional fee.

Two-Day Shipping is available for most items to eligible zip codes within the contiguous U.S. Orders must be placed by 1 PM Central Time for shipment the same day. Delivery is within 2 business days of shipment. A Saturday delivery option is available at checkout.

Next Day Shipping delivers your order within one business day for expedited service. Only available for in-stock items. Order must be placed by 3 PM Central Time for same day shipment. Saturday delivery optional.

Freight Shipping is used for large, heavy, or oversized items that require specialty shipping via common carrier truck. A representative will contact you to schedule curbside delivery. Lift gate and residential delivery options are available.

Alaska & Hawaii: We ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands via standard ground, freight, or priority mail. Shipping timeframes and rates are displayed at checkout.

International Shipping

Sportsman’s Guide ships to over 100 countries worldwide. Available options include:

GlobalPriority Mail delivers in 6-10 business days to major markets including Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia, Japan. More remote destinations may take longer.

GlobalExpress Mail delivers within 3-5 business days to most major markets. Provides accelerated customs clearance.

FedEx International offers door-to-door delivery in 2-7 business days depending on destination. Shipments clear customs and deliver directly to recipients.

EMS International is the international delivery service from USPS. Ships in 3-5 business days to most major countries. Offers delivery tracking and insurance.

During checkout you will be presented with the available shipping providers, delivery times, and rates for your destination. Customs duties, taxes and fees may apply for international orders. Transit times are estimates only – actual delivery time will depend on customs and local import regulations.

Shipping Costs and Options

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and presented during checkout based on weight, dimensions, and delivery speed of the items in your cart.

When Orders Ship

Orders are normally processed for shipment within 2 business days of when the order is placed for items in stock and paid for. Additional lead times for shipment may apply for out-of-stock items, backordered products, personalized orders, or heavy freight items.

We do not process orders for shipment or deliver on Sundays or national holidays. Any orders placed on weekends, holidays, or after the daily order cutoff time will be processed the next business day.

You will receive an Order Confirmation email when your order ships containing tracking information. Please allow sufficient time from shipment date for delivery before reporting any order issues.

Shipping Restrictions

Sportsman’s Guide accepts orders for shipment to all U.S. states. We cannot ship most products to the following territories due to federal and carrier regulations:

We cannot ship any items prohibited under U.S. federal, state, or local laws. Some products may only be purchased and shipped within their state of sale. Certain destinations outside the U.S. may also prohibit or restrict shipment of specific merchandise.

Order Packaging

We package all shipments in new, sturdy boxes or mailing envelopes sufficient to protect the contents. Smaller items may be grouped into one box or mailed together in envelopes or padded mailers.

Fragile items will be carefully packaged with bubble wrap, foam peanuts, or air bags to avoid damage. We recommend that customers purchase additional insurance for fragile high value items to supplement the default coverage provided.

You can request additional packaging or gift options during checkout such as gift wrap, pouches, greeting cards, gift receipts, and special messaging.

Sportsman’s Guide leverages all major U.S. package delivery services to optimize shipping times, costs, and performance based on the order details:

USPS (United States Postal Service): All mail packages under 70 lbs use USPS for reliable and affordable delivery through rain, sleet, or snow. Priority Express for time sensitive packages.

UPS (United Parcel Service): Quick and trackable small package delivery with extensive ground and air coverage. Often used for expedited shipments.

FedEx: Trusted express courier with time definite delivery of high priority freight and packages. Offers specialized cold chain and hazardous material solutions.

OnTrac: Regional overnight package delivery company providing next day service in eight western states.

LSO (Lone Star Overnight): Overnight small package shipping carrier focused in the southwest with coverage across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

For large freight shipments we partner with specialty carriers including XPO, SAIA, and Estes to provide professional white glove delivery using flatbeds, box trucks, or 18-wheelers based on shipment specifications.

You can select alternate carriers at checkout if certain options are available for your items and destination, which may result in different transit times and rates.

Tracking Your Shipment

Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing your carrier tracking number. You can check the status of your shipment in real-time by entering the tracking number directly on the shipping carrier’s website.

Delivery Information

Delivery Times

We provide estimated shipping windows and delivery dates at checkout based on the items, origin, destination zip code, and selected shipping speed. Actual transit times may vary based on carrier operations.

Deliveries requiring additional handling, rural routes, islands, and other remote areas may add days to the estimates. Inclement weather, peak seasons, and holidays can also impact overall delivery timeframes.

Delivery Days

Packages are delivered Monday through Saturday based on the selected shipping service and carrier.

Evening & Overnight Cutoff

Packages must be dropped off at our fulfillment centers before the shipping cutoff time to go out the same day. Otherwise, shipment will occur the next business day.

Delivery Attempts

If no one is available to accept the package at the delivery address, the carrier will normally attempt delivery again the next business day. After three missed delivery attempts, the package will be returned to our facility as undeliverable.

Delivery Signature

Packages requiring a signature due to value will not be left unattended without a signed proof of delivery. Options include:

  1. Adult signature upon arrival
  2. Signing the carrier’s mobile device/scanner
  3. Leave at front desk of office building
  4. Waive signature requirement to authorize drop off

Delivery Confirmation

We ship thousands of packages daily, so we do not automatically notify customers when individual orders are delivered. Please monitor tracking and allow enough transit time before reporting missing deliveries. Filed claims for lost packages may require waiting 7-10 days after expected delivery.

Redirecting or Redelivering

If you will not be available to receive your shipment, you may be able to redirect or reschedule delivery through your account at the carrier’s website. Options vary by carrier but may include:

Lost or Damaged Shipments

Sportsman’s Guide takes great care in preparing and packaging customer shipments to arrive undamaged. However, occasionally accidents in transit, weather delays, or other disruptions can result in lost packages or damage.

Immediately Inspect Deliveries

Please thoroughly inspect all orders immediately upon delivery before carrier leaves and note any visible issues or damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt prior to signing. Retain all packaging materials. Report any problems as soon as possible after discovery.

Damage Claims

If an order arrives damaged due to inadequate packaging or mishandling, accept delivery, document damage with photos, and contact us right away. We will file a claim with the carrier on your behalf and arrange replacement or refund.

If damage resulted from customer acts, you may need to file your own claim with the shipping provider. We are unable to process damage claims more than 5 days after delivery.

Lost Package Claims

If tracking shows a package was delivered but you cannot locate it, contact us as soon as possible (but no more than 3 days after expected delivery). We will investigate and file a claim if deemed lost by the carrier.

Claims must be supported by confirmation of the delivery address matching your order. We are unable to process claims for lost packages if no delivery was recorded.

Resolving Claims

For successful damage or loss claims, Sportsman’s Guide will ship a replacement item at our cost or issue a refund. Claim resolution can take 10-15 business days from time of receipt.
